UFC 305 is set to bring an electrifying night of fights to Perth on August 18, with seven thrilling matchups officially confirmed. The card promises intense action, featuring two heavyweight clashes, a trans-Tasman showdown, and the return of several fan favourites.
UFC 305 Fight Card:
Dricus du Plessis (c) vs Israel Adesanya - 185lb Championship
The main event will feature a heated middleweight title bout between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya. Adesanya, the New Zealand star known as "The Stylebender," seeks to reclaim the 185-pound title he lost to Sean Strickland in September.
Steve Erceg vs Kai Kara-France - 125lbs
One of the most anticipated fights is a flyweight clash between Perth’s own Steve Erceg (12-2) and New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France (24-11). This bout marks Erceg’s return to the octagon following his narrow title fight loss to Alexandre Pantoja in May. Kara-France, a beloved figure in New Zealand’s MMA scene and a wrestling coach for the Warriors, returns after a contentious decision defeat to Amir Albazi in June 2023.
Tai Tuivasa vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik - 265lbs
Heavyweight action includes Tai Tuivasa (15-7) facing off against knockout artist Jairzinho Rozenstruik (14-5). Tuivasa, known for his entertaining fight style, is looking to break a four-fight losing streak. Brisbane’s Junior Tafa (5-2) will also step into the cage for a three-round bout against Valter ‘The Clean Monster’ Walker (11-1). Tafa became a fan favorite after stepping in on short notice at UFC 297 in Anaheim.
Jack Jenkins vs Gavin Tucket - 145lbs
Melbourne’s Jack ‘Pharjack’ Jenkins (12-3) is set to make a comeback after recovering from a dislocated elbow. Jenkins, a former pub worker turned UFC fighter, will face Gavin Tucker (13-3) in a featherweight match.
Casey O'Neill vs Tereza Bleda - 125lbs
‘King’ Casey O’Neill (9-2), born in Scotland and raised on the Gold Coast, returns to fight Tereza Bleda (7-1). O’Neill is eager to get back on track after a second-round submission loss to Ariane Lipski at UFC 296.
Tom Nolan vs Alex Reyes
Toowoomba’s Tom ‘Big Train’ Nolan (7-1) is back after his impressive UFC debut win in May. Nolan, who caught UFC president Dana White’s eye during his Contender Series appearance, aims to continue his ascent in the lightweight division.
Josh Culibao vs Ricardo Ramos
Sydney’s Josh ‘Kuya’ Culibao (11-3-1) is also on the card, looking to end a two-fight skid with a featherweight bout against Ricardo Ramos (16-6). Culibao’s most recent fight was a close split decision loss to Danny Silva in March.
Junior Tafa vs Valter Walker
Junior Tafa (5-2), younger brother of Justin Tafa, is coming of a TKO loss to Marcos Rogerio de Lima and is looking to rebound in front of his home country. Valter Walker is an 11-1 Brazilian looking to spoil the party...
